|A.N.D.'s Greatest Misses will be available 9/25 at my podcast below|
For those unfamiliar with the A.N.D.’s Greatest Misses franchise its simply a concept I borrowed and morphed into an authentic TruSkool Dj Mixtape format(meaning where the dj is actually mixing & or blending the songs) that features prominent, obscure and unsung recording artist and their music uncensored in its original released format from the city of Anderson. The featured records I showcased throughout the mix were not huge commercial successes considered in the industry as chart topping hits, but were solid productions just the same only without the big budget promotions. My attempt is always to aide and highlight various artist and their musical styles from around the city of Anderson South Carolina spanning over the last few decades or so, new school artist and veterans alike. Those that have contributed in helping to make substantial impacts in shaping this city’s urban musical identity and culture.

The Greatest Misses project is an attempt to capture a snap-shot of the A.N.D.’s musical diversified soundscape from a TruSkool Dj’s perspective. A lot of hip-hop enthusiast I meet from outside the city, the inquiring minds often are misinformed when we converse, thinking most of the artist they heard coming from Anderson only imitate and emulate other popular radio mainstream artist. My reply “Yes there are, but the few doesn’t represent the many.” Thus, it’s NOT a 100 percent factual statement.
Being a member of the urban Anderson entertainment scene for over two decades as an artist and Dj. I can testify unequivocally there have been scores of artist that carved out their own identity , niche and sound over the years, recorded dope records that most of the public at large is still unaware of and yet never heard. This is the void that the Greatest Misses is intented to help fill. In totality this franchise is somewhat of an extension of my former releases entitled "The A.N.D.'s Greatest Underground Hits" which I presented in volumes in the late 90's and early 2000's using the compact disc media format. It's been three years since my last Greatest Misses Retro edition was released on my very own djtuc999 podcast mix show platform. Which also by the way has become one of my most successful creations.
|Here's proof look closely at the 2002 date|
In conclusion the Electric City aka the A.N.D. is like an urban musical gumbo of sorts. Having many different influences from TruSkool Hip-Hop, Gangsta Rap, Trap Rap, Crunk Rap and with everything else in-between providing it with such a unique flavor from the rest of the upstate. And at the end of mix this is what I endeavor all listeners to walk away with. And this is a wider respect and a deeper appreciation for all our artist past, present and future whom represented the city where I’m from. This is a celebration, a dedication of their hard work and effort from one of their own hometown DeeJays. Maybe other Dj’s will follow suite when I pass the baton. Hopefully this new mix represented you well.
Side note…Yes that is yours truly at 6 years old on the cover art & yes
